Family home
Rusko House was a family home for 40 years. In 2019, the children having grown up and living in Ayrshire and Edinburgh with families of their own, have made it into a holiday home which is very much loved. They have tried to keep the homely, warm feel that was such a happy backdrop to their childhoods. 
Cosy with games!
Rusko House is a house for fun and games with a table tennis table in the basement and a cupboard full of board games. There are lots of books and some dvds as well as a smart tv so if you have a wet Scottish week there is plenty of fun to be had inside!

Comfortable sleeping for six people
Rusko House has 3 bedrooms sleeping 6 people (plus a comfortable carry cot for under 2s). There are two king rooms and a twin room with zip-and-link beds that convert into a super-king. all with all-seasons duvets, ample storage space and nice fluffy towels. 
Beautiful Galloway
Rusko House is in Castle Douglas, a great little town in Dumfries and Galloway. It has a fantastic high street, going against the grain by maintaining a number of independent gift shops, food shops and cafes. You can spend a good few hours meandering there alone, never mind exploring the countryside - 20 minutes to the beach, lots of rivers and walks, good for cyclists and lots of family activities around too - a great place for a holiday! |
Spacious and comfortable
A 3 bedroom house suitable for 6 people, Rusko has a homely, well equipped, farmhouse style kitchen with a rangemaster oven perfect both for fancy cooks as well as leisurely meals. There are two sitting rooms, one with an open fire and the other a woodburner. The house has natural light throughout and has recently been painted and carpeted. It is full of books, dvds and games and has wifi and a piano. 
Brilliant Garden!
The garden has seen a lot of action with kids over the years and is a good size for playing, safely enclosed and well tended to, it's very beautiful in spring when flowers are in bloom. A lot of love has gone into it over the years and there is a recent addition of a patio area which has a glass overhang meaning you can enjoy the outside sofa and dining area in all weathers.
